For this project that I completed as an instructional designer at Stride, Inc., I was tasked to revise an internal course created for instructional designers and repurpose it as a course for K-12 educators to teach them the basics of accessibility. I served as both SME and Instructional Designer for this project. I ended up creating a two-part series, Intro to Accessibility and Enhanced Accessibility for Teachers. You may view the first course for free by creating an account at Stride Professional Development.

This was a unique project for me because I was both subject matter expert and instructional designer for the series. It took me a bit longer to develop this series because a lot of revision was needed to adjust the content and presentation for a different audience. When I brought the original course to technical review, the lead designer and I discussed splitting the course into a two-part series. This allowed me to add more interactive features into the second course, including a short interview in which I discussed my experience as an educator supporting the digital accessibility needs of a blind student. The second course also includes Meet the Learner cards, which provide audio narratives of learners who benefit from the different accessible features presented in the course.
Looking back, I wish I had originally envisioned a two-part series, because I would have allowed time to develop more interactive features for the Intro course as well. The Meet the Learner cards would have been beneficial to that course as well, adding a real-life connection to the content.
